My Opinion: Top 5 Books
I love books. I read them all the time: at home, at school, and everywhere I go. Sometimes I get really distracted by them (which is not really good if it’s in school). So, I’m probably a really good person to write this article. Here are the top 5 books in my opinion.5. Geronimo Stilton: My name is Stilton, Geronimo Stilton! By Elisabetta Dami
This is th
e 19th book from a series about the life of a talking mouse named Geronimo Stilton, who lives in New Mouse City on Mouse Island. The first book is called Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye. Geronimo is a nervous and polite mouse that works as a journalist and editor for The Rodent’s Gazette, a fictional newspaper. He wishes to live a calm, normal life, but is constantly dragged into wild adventures with his sister, Thea, his cousin, Trap, and his nephew, Benjamin. These books are silly, humorous, and short.
4. Judy Moody: Not so Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald
This book is part of a series that follows the exciting life of a young girl named Judy Moody. These books are funny, short and interesting. The first book is Judy Moody was in a mood. Judy Moody plans her extraordinary summer vacation with her best friends Rocky and Amy. She packs candy, toys and kids stuff, then invites her friends to accompany her. Unfortunately for Judy, Rocky is going to circus camp to learn how to tame lions, while Amy is going to Borneo with her mom to save a lost tribe. Too bad for gloomy Judy, as she has to stay with her troublesome little brother, Stink, and her annoying friend, Frank Pearl. What is she going to do?
3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
This is the first book of a well-known series. This book is about Harry, a young wizard who is rescued from the neglect of his aunt and uncle. He explores the world of magic at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he meets two friends named Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Harry soon finds out that the lightning shaped scar on his forehead was made by the evil wizard Voldemort ( He-who-must-not-be-named). Unlike what his aunt and uncle told him, it was Voldemort who murdered his parents. Each book is another adventure for the trio as they try to stop Voldemort from completing his wicked plans. These books are exciting, funny, and perfect for people who love fantasy.
2. Percy Jackson and Olympians: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
This book is part of a best-selling series that starts with Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief. The half-bloods have been preparing all year for the battle against the Titans, knowing that the odds of victory are grim. Kronos’ army is stronger than ever, and the evil Titan’s power grows with every god and half-blood he recruits. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster, Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time. In this momentous final book, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy’s sixteenth birthday unfolds. Furthermore, as the battle to conquer Western civilization rages on in the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate. These books are humorous, exciting and great for people who are interested in mythology.
1. Saga of Darren Shan: Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan
This book is the first book of an action-packed series. The main character, Darren, goes to a banned freak show with his best mate Steve. It’s a marvellously gothic “Cirque Du Freak” where weird, frightening half-human half-animals appear to interact with the audience. Darren – a spider freak – falls in love’ with Madam Octa – an enormous tarantula owned by Mr. Crepsley. Darren is determined to steal the spider so he can train it to perform amazing tricks. However, his daring theft goes horribly wrong. The spider bites Steve and Darren has to sell his soul to Mr. Crepsley – a member of the vampire clan – to get the antidote. These books are exciting, funny, and a little bit creepy too!
