For the past 17 years, this cookie counter/lemonade stand has been on-the move. Never giving in for anything. This stand never missed a year in helping people to fix their hearts. Since Joshua’s sister Amanda started the lemonade stand, they have attracted millions of people including Donald Trump.
When Amanda’s lemonade stand started up, it was just a normal lemonade stand, except this one had a goal – to fix people’s hearts. They support charities like Sick Kids Hospital, Canadian blood services and much more. This year, the lemonade stand officially announced Joshified, which means that Joshua, who has been helping his sister since the age of 2 is now running the stand.
“When people ask us why we do this, we don’t answer with the usual: because I’m affected with a health issue, or my friend is affected with it. Instead, we want to do it because it’s the right thing to do,” Joshua said.
The event was extremely well coordinated with all the rides, food, and even a auction. The cool thing for this year was that they invited a real cub lion – a female lion who came from a Safari Zoo.
“We have to change the world one person, one dollar, and one glass of lemonade at a time,” Joshua said.
I think Joshua’s cookie counter was a huge success this year with lots of people attending. I am sure that they must have made a difference in bunch of people’s lives and fixed lots of hearts. I look forward to next year’s event.
